Gabriel Vargas Ruiz
Birthday: 2003-02-14 | Place of Birth: Lima, PeruGabriel Vargas is a Peruvian filmmaker and a senior in La Roche University. Gabriel loved drawing and creating stories as a kid and wanted to get give these stories and drawings a new life. So, he makes films by combining animated concepts with real life situations. In ocassions, he mixes both formats, and is planning to showcase the beauty that can be achieved by doing so. So, he came to the United States to show his own perspective and how he views the world. Gabriel has been the Art director and photography assistant in the short film “Hola, te extraño”, a short piece about the loss of a loved one during pandemic. He also has his own short documentary titled “The Resilience”, which interviews Peruvian students and their experience moving into an US university. Gabriel is interested in digital animation, script writing and directing, but he also enjoys groundwork like working with cameras, lights, and sound. He works on animations and scripts in his free time, and he also has experience in video editing and post-production.
