Since then, his travels around those regions resulted in several short films, with different partners in each place. His 2 first short films (Bring me a Dream, 2017, and Piñata, 2018) were selected to the Rio Film Festival and exhibited at the Video Forum Program. Mateus is also a Cinema undergraduate student at Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), where he keeps making short films, now with college friends (such as Dike, 2020, and La Ursa’s Carcase, 2021).
