Etta James, una delle più leggendarie artiste R&B di tutti i tempi, ha continuato a cantare con il suo tipico stile, ballate blues, R&B e jazz per più di 40 anni e non mostra ancora segni di declino. Fin dai primi anni '50, quando è stata scoperta da Johnny Otis, con il quale ha scritto e registrato "The Wallflower" (che ha subito scalato le classifiche R&B), Etta ha realizzato una lunga serie di hit, fino alla sua mitica apparizione alla Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame del 1993. In questo show, registrato nel 2000 alla House Of Blues di Los Angeles, Etta James passa con facilità dal blues al jazz e canta cover di classici brani come "Take Me To The River" e "You Can Leave Your Hat On", oltre a brani propri come "I'd Rather Go Blind" e la sua famosa "At Last".
