Il ventenne Jake Foley, esperto di computer dell’NSA – National Security Agency – rimane vittima di un incidente: durante uno scontro a fuoco in un laboratorio topsecret, Jake viene investito da un siero sperimentale che gli modifica in meglio la rapidità dei movimenti, l’udito e, soprattutto, lo rende capace di interagire telepaticamente con i computer. Una volta saputo dei suoi superpoteri, l’NSA decide di costruire attorno al nostro una squadra speciale composta da Kyle Duarte, Diane Hughes e Louise Beckett. In più di un’occasione il protagonista si trova indeciso a muovere il mouse, distratto dalla ragazza dei suoi sogni: Sarah Heywood lavora per il Congresso e potrebbe smascherare la sua attività di supereroe wireless.
